Born in Berlin, I spent my childhood exploring together with my parents nearly all countries of Europe in a VW T2 Microbus. Most of the time by wild camping in remote places.
When I started planning my own trips I decided to explore the wild places outside of Europe on long-distance trips by plane. As a teenager, I traveled alone for two months around the U.S.. Later as a student, I spent three months in the rainforests of Costa Rica. In the last fifteen years, I explored many iconic wild places like Patagonia, Tasmania, Namibia, Iceland, and New Zealand.
I'm an experienced landscape photographer and have documented my trips on my website wild-places.com.
I also have a Ph.D. in automotive engineering and more than twenty years of professional experience in the automotive industry.
Recently I started doing overlanding trips with electric vehicles and write about my experience on my blog ev-overlanding.com.
