    Miller315's multipurpose trailer

Well it's been a year, not really sure if anyone remembers this thread. An update to the trailer I rebuilt last year. It's been on a couple hunting trips and has worked out well. Biggest problem found was not the trailer but finding a good cover/tarp system. Been using pop up tents, and when it...

    Miller315's multipurpose trailer

Been working on the trailer a little here and there. Baseball season is here and taking a lot of my spare time. Still have some things to finish up before its maiden voyage next month for turkey hunting. I have always put a tarp over and then bungee spider strapped it down. I wanted to try...

    Miller315's multipurpose trailer

Finally got it out of garage and took a test drive. I went about 5 miles away to weigh it. Had a small issue enroute. Hiway 101 by me has had some problems with too much water resulting in a rough road. Anyway, on my out I think the combination of 50 mph and some bumps caused the table clips to...

    Miller315's multipurpose trailer

Got a little done today. As I said before this is a multipurpose trailer, so pretty much everything needed to be modular, or removable. I turned an old storage box into a battery box and pump housing. I had made a single battery power box last year, which worked well, but ran out of juice after...

    Miller315's multipurpose trailer

I got the spare mounted today. It's not in the previous pics, but it was mounted flat on the tongue. I have hopes of putting a box up there, and I just didn't like it there in general. So using Unistrut, I made a mount on the driver side. It's not fancy, but it works. I welded a little tab to...

    Miller315's multipurpose trailer

I finished hanging the table today. As you can see, I put on the other Yakima rack. My plan of adding a truck tool box is on hold for a bit. This is not a real expensive project, but it's definitatley adding up. So I decided to use what I have. By putting the other rack on, I have a piece of...

    Miller315's multipurpose trailer

Yes, exactly why I went with it. I originally tried to find the square metal tubes with holes on all sides, similar to what they use with street signs. I couldn't find any locally, but the Unistrut I can, and accomplishes what I want or need so far.

    Miller315's multipurpose trailer

Hi all. I have been following EP for a few years now, and( just like many) I have earned a lot, and gained great ideas. I have posted a few times on hear, mostly questions or looking for suggestions. Well I finally decided to start a build thread. First off, this is not much of a real rugged...

    Winch circuit breaker question

All, thank you very much. Just a wealth of knowledge on here. I am excited to be able to use the winch now, but I may play a little and run some low weight, low risk scenarios, just to see what works what doesn't, ect. I am thinking a couple more additions to the truck and I may start my own...

    Winch circuit breaker question

Well I finished up the wiring. I may be a little over cautious but I used a 150 amp resettable breaker, like Henry posted. So another question. The manual says for every 45 seconds of use, 14 + minutes of cool down. I understand the cool down need. The manual also said before use to pull out...

    Winch circuit breaker question

Ah, I didn't think of it like that. I had read that I needed 1 1/2 times the vehicle weight for the winch but didn't really think about the accessories. Thanks. Although now I will have to go shopping.

So I need to go up? What is the suggested size/ capacity I should have?

    Winch circuit breaker question

Onetraveller, Interesting read. I didn't read it thoroughly but skimmed through. I understand the theory of winching, mech advantage, ect. I admit I don't have the math memorized, but I understand the theory. I will admit I didn't realize pull weight was connected to number of wraps on the...

    Winch circuit breaker question

Thanks for the info guys. What I am getting is I probably will not get the 12000 lbs of pull that the winch is capable of. Let me throw this out and tell me if it is ok. My truck is an 08 F350 diesel, CC 4x4 lariat, with factory camper package and dual batteries. I have no idea what size my...

    Winch circuit breaker question

HenryJ, Thanks for the info, I will look into those. They seem like a good way to go. But let me ask this, if the winch "can" draw 300 amps, and the breaker is only rated for 150 or even 200 amps, if I reach the designated" full load" of the winch won't the breaker trip? As a novice I would...

    Winch circuit breaker question

Hi all. Relatively new to the use of winches. Got the basic idea of installing, but have a couple questions if you all could help. I just recently purchased a Badlands 12000lb winch. I am aware of some thoughts about the Badlands winch, but for what I do it's about all I wanted to spend. Anyway...

Where did you get those folding shelves? I have been looking for something like that for our tent.

    Another OBW Project

Well I'm just about finished with this part. I got a little side tracked with doing a small platform in the back. I filled up the 7 gallon jug this evening and ran it. Had a couple small leaks to fix but other than that worked pretty good. Had it going through once of those garden nozzles that...
