A few observations (not to get people riled up). 1) Let's see exactly what kind of damage we are talking about, what your model loosk like, etc... Right now, we're all just guessing based on word pictures. 2) Perhaps others have thought this, but it seems odd that one would buy a tent...

The tigers are fine rigs and should definitely be considered. One point to note is that the camper portion of the tiger is _rigidly_ attached to the frame and not based on some type of pivot mount like the earthroamer. Just something to keep in mind, depending on how much frame flex you think...

GTRV can do a poptop on a toyota sienna (which you can get with an awd option). I believe it was $6-7k for the top (roughly the same price as a sportsmobile poptop). Now that your budget is 20k, it might work. Won't have the vintage look, but reliablity of a toyota is probably a plus.
