I need to build an off-road teardrop with a queen size bed! Need advice.

I built one. Queen sized memory foam mattress and all. The build can be seen at:www.wkdfj.com and on this site at: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/140573-My-offroad-teardrop-build Randy (Lead Dog) that posted up has an awesome solution to home building. To be honest, it is a...

    Tuktoyaktuk, January 2016

Thanks for your post. I am leading a group up to TUK in March of 2017. We'll be among the last to cross the great Ice Road. About 7,000 miles total from Vegas to TUK and back!

    larger tear drops

I built my own as well. 5x8 with a small galley/storage area. Has a queen sized memory foam mattress and keeps me warm in the winter. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/140573-My-offroad-teardrop-build

    My offroad teardrop build

Thanks Kevin! I bought them from eBay. They are chinese LED flush mount lights. They have a little snap on cover. I think they were like $10 a piece. Very much like these...

    My offroad teardrop build

Thanks man! That is exactly what I did. I skipped on a "galley". I carry 4 large sealed plastic totes back there for cookware, food, and misc "stuff". Here it is opened on a beach in Baja a few days ago!

    Any recommendations on a Parka?

Mostly driving but we plan on doing most of the activities in Inuvik. (dog sledding, hiking, etc) The trip plan more or less is to make a hard drive to Inuvik and take in the Arctic.

    Any recommendations on a Parka?

Thanks very much! It's a bucket list item for me to get to the Arctic Ocean. 2017 will be the end of the ice road as we know it due to the opening of the new Inuvik-Tuk highway. That is why we're doing it!

    Any recommendations on a Parka?

Planning our Arctic trip brings up one of the most important things us desert dwellers rarely have and that is serious cold weather gear. I started looking at Parkas and pants and it seems to be more a Hipster trend that serious gear any more. I am thinking the old Mil Spec M65 Parka will be...

    Moby1 owners?

So spend your money with Todd at TC TEardrops or Randy at Dog House Campers. Both are fine outstanding folks that make quality rigs.

    HAM/CB shared external speaker

^^ You can do that, but you risk audio distortion. I built a couple of these a few years ago. Really no different than a studio mic mixer going to a single PA system. I ran into issues because I was feeding it into the truck aux port, so impedance matching and such were a bear. I built my own...

    Heating your tent/canopy/camper/truck/car

I run a "Mr. Heater" in our teardrop and use one of their smaller ones to heat our portable outhouse in the colder months. Great products and very safe. And yes, when we use it in the teardop, we heat the camper then turn it off. No odor or other issues and they run off of the small Coleman...
