Refreshing the TJ - Build Thread

Hey everyone, due to the photobucket bulls**t, my photos are all obviously unlinked now. Not sure when I'll have the time to re-upload all the content here, but feel free to PM me and I'll get you images if there are some specific ones you need.

Got the transfer case re-built yesterday and started cleaning up the transmission a bit. Didn't have the energy to pull everything out of the jeep so I'll need to find a better time to do that in the coming weeks.

Well...the past few days have been parts collecting. I got a great deal on the AW4 w/ rebuild kit. Payed less than even the IPT Performance Shift Kit costs new! Recently Acquired : OBDII AW4 (~90,000 Miles) Complete with Harness and Computer IPT Performance Shift Kit w/Raybestos Blue Clutches...

The 242 is considered a "FULL TIME" engaged. While I wouldn't use it often on the street, snowy/wet roads and fast fire road driving would be amazing to have. https://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transfer-cases/np242/ I have the Transgo shift kit, look earlier in the thread and you'll see my...

You know that 90% of the work done to my jeep would've been done to the Rubicon too. The only the advantage the Rubicon has is the 4:1 and the front Dana 44. Negligible aspects of this build for my use case, just 'nice to haves'.

Thank you! I do too. Right now I have a lot going on and probably am not going to tackle the console for a few more months. After hitting the Rubicon last weekend an issue that has slightly plagued my NP231J for the past few years became apparent so I picked up a used 231J w/ SYE yesterday and...

Horribly unfinished and an eye sore every time I get in the Jeep. Functional. Yes. Need to find the time to do it right. Really just slapped it together for a trip 6 months ago and never finished it the way I wanted.

Refreshing the TJ - Build Thread

Well, in an effort to finally wrap up all the small unfinished projects around the jeep, I tore into the dash this weekend and started building a tubular center console. Goal is to have it hold all of the contura switches, gauges, stereo, ham radio, navigation system and have all the shifters...

Something I saw a bunch of the guy's on the desert forums doing so I made a full one piece skid out of a 5"x5" .25" wall Square 7075 Tube I had. Actually the same tube I made the front bumper out of. I was planning on finishing the front and rear skid on the jack but still haven't gotten around...

Thank you! Before a recent trip to Mammoth, I finally tore into the rear end to solve the diff hitting the tank skid. I had to pull the coils off to flex out to full bump, adjust the pinion and check clearance a few times to make sure everything cleared. Tires rub a bit at full articulation...

Quick phone image of the drawers carpeted and in. Haven't put handles on them yet, hence the cord wrapped through the lock tumbler area. Handles this weekend, drawer slides will be installed sometime in the next few months.

Nice set up! I have and have a full set of Jerry cans at the house, unfortunately they will not fit between the outside of the cage (between B-C Pillars) and inside of the hardtop. These guys LINK will fit perfectly in that space being Dimensions 34" X 13.5" X 3.25" and mount fairly close to...

Thanks Chazz. Just wait until I get the water cans in! I really liked Paul's gravity feed set up, so i'll be rocking one on each side of the cage. Looking forward to seeing you guys soon!

Thanks! It is a 1.5 ton harbor frieght race Jack that I made a 7075 skid for. The skid isn't completely done but works great in the dirt. Whole thing weighs under 30lbs. I have considered long arms many times, still do. Given the relatively low lift and 8.5-10 degree CA angle I'm not super...
