Hi everyone,

I recently bought this 2WD 1998 E150 GTRV. It was a great deal and I have a 4runner with 4x4 if needed.

This will be driven mostly on the highway but I want to be able to get down rocky forest service roads as needed. I want to lift it and get larger tires without being overly aggressive and killing my mpg. I’m thinking 2-3”. I’ve seen the weldtec lifts but is there anything else I should consider?

Also, you may notice that rear panel in the photo. The previous owner took out the air conditioner. Any cool ideas for something I could do with that hole besides the panel?

Thanks in advance.

This is what I did on my old 2000 e150. I liked it and it was not too expensive. Moog CC880 (Not the 880S) at the front and HD leaf springs in the rear (Sorry I do not have a part number for them, they were custom-made or better said assembled by SDTruck Springs). Keep in mind that for your year, the E150 springs were 2.5" wide while E250, e350, and post 08 E150 are 3" wide. . The tires were Cooper Discoverer AT3 265/70/17. (Around 31")
