1998 Alaskan Camper 10ft in like new condition. $40,000. I am the second owner. It was stored inside a garage for the past 20 years when I came across it. I’ve had the camper just over a year, and all the upgrades were completed in the last year. I updated all the systems with Battleborn battery, Redarc power management and inverter, Espar High Altitude Diesel Heater, Novakool DC fridge, Isotemp 4.2gallon water heater, new upholstery, and more. I then took the camper to Alaskan Campers in Washington to have everything gone through, resealed, new gaskets, new Hydraulic pump, etc. I have never come across another Alaskan camper outfitted this well. The camper is like new and a new 10ft Alaskan is over $60k, and you’d still have to upgrade the systems.
The Camper is still mounted on my truck and located just West of Harrisonburg Virginia. I’m willing to drive a reasonable distance with an acceptable deposit. I will be removing the camper in a month or so and it will be difficult to demonstrate the diesel heater and water heater after that as they are designed to be plumbed to the truck. The water heater scavenges heat from the truck heating element and produces scalding hot water around 150deg! It stays hot for about a day afterwards (It can run off 110v if needed). I have a quick disconnect for Water heater and Diesel heater, so could be run from an auxiliary diesel jug if you don’t have a diesel truck. The Weatherguard boxes are included as they are modified to hold (2) 5lb propane bottles plumbed into camper, as well as to allow for the diesel heater exhaust.
The camper has external 110 power plumbed to the 2kw inverter which is perfect for charging elect bikes. Also has external DC plug, an SEA plug to allow additional solar panels input (I carry an additional Goal Zero 100w folding panel but hasn’t been needed with the 200 watts already on the roof). Additionally, it has a bullfinch outside hot/cold shower which works great.
Only reason I’m selling the camper is it’s just a bit too big for where we go, so looking for something smaller. It is truly a great camper. I’ve been in Wyoming sustained winds above 40mph with gusts who knows how strong, but was shaking the whole truck and was glad to have the hard walls. I spent a few weeks in Northern Colorado, with temps dipping into the upper teens/low twenties at night. The Espar heater has a timer so would run the heater from about 6pm and it would auto shut off at 10pm, then would automatically turn back on at 4AM and turn off at 6AM. I did this for 15 nights, roughly 6hrs per night, set to 68deg, and the heater only used 3 gallons of fuel the entire time (at 9800ft elevation)! With the 50” couches it is very comfortable no matter what is happening outside.
