Period correct Suburban buckets to replace bench seat.

Shelve-It. Nice place to pack more crap in a tight standard cab truck.

RAM computer mount. Used additional brackets to support the RAM mount. Several power outlets in and on the side of the center console to power the laptop.

1989 Suburban: Interior power to rear cargo area

I am a junction block junkie! I love these junction blocks GM used on the firewall of 73-91 square body trucks as they are so useful to use everywhere. I added one of these junction blocks to the RH fender to carry the power to the rear of the burb. For this location I removed the cross bar and added a fuse.

Pinch mount stand-off bracket just forward of the RH wheel well as the power lead goes up into the cargo area. All the wiring is 10 gauge wire slid inside 7/32 vacuum hose. I like to run single power leads inside vacuum hose for added chaff protection.

Gave the pass through a good soaking of undercoating

Added another junction block in the right rear quarter panel just forward of the wheel well. I was able to gain access to this spot by way of a speaker hole. It was a tight hole to conduct business!

All that work for 3 damn sockets!

Hella plug for the National Luna refrigerator, 2 port USB outlet and regular 12V outlet

Also added some tied downs to the floor while I was at it. Can’t have that refrigerator bouncing around bonking people on the head

Larry, I think I am just going to ship my suburban out to you and have you do it........ I love your meticulous and exceptionally clean work!

Storage unit/sleep platform

Converted dome lights to LED (4000°K, tho 3000 or 3500K might've been better still) and installed a switch to turn them off when needed (Ford didn't seem to think one was necessary  )

Installed a couple cig light receptacles (visible on right). Not as clean as Larry's (nice work!), but it works well and is secure (mounted with 3M VHB tape).

Rollcage just in case a more extreme adventure gets out of control (I think you could call it an interior mod anyway lol)

It folds back for access to the rear seats also.

4X4Junkie, what slide is that for your refrige? Is that a 65 quart Edgestar? I've been looking for a slide before I decide I have to "MacGuyverize" one.

It's the 43-quart model.

My slide is homebuilt from scratch (wanted something 'low-profile' but still having a pull-out shelf). I used 100lb slides from Home Depot... They work (and the whole thing cost me maybe $50 inc. all 4 slides), but it's a little wobbly at full extension. Doing it over, I'd probably use a set of 200lb slides for the main portion of it.

They are CDT Audio front stage tweeters..I cannot remember the size but they were elbow joints cut in half.. I took the tweeter with me and they fit perfect. All the speakers in the 80 are CDT Audio except the Alpine shallow sub... Pretty extensive write up in my build thread on the system.. click the link in my signature Here are the front door pods I also built.....rear doors have the same components but not in pods.
