Position Title: Operations Manager/Lead Fabricator
Location: Pacoima, CA (Full-Time)
Compensation: $25-$35/hr DOE, possible equity split
About the Company: Big Body Truck Co is a fabrication company which specializes in DIY
flatbed conversion kits for pickup trucks. We are currently a team of 2 founders who are ready to
build a motivated team to scale the business.
Job Summary: The Operations Manager will lead the daily operations and fabrication of the
flatbed conversion kits. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who wants to grow and learn
with our small business. The ideal candidate will have extensive fabrication experience, and be
comfortable creating/modifying processes in order to constantly improve our operations. This
role will grow into a team lead as we hire additional fabricators and technicians; any
management experience in a fabrication environment is a huge plus.
Responsibilities:
● Oversee daily shop operations
● Welding and general fabrication of steel truckbed components
● Manage additional fabricators/technicians (as shop grows)
● Create and maintain work instructions
● Create schedules and lead execution of tasks
● Analyze and improve fabrication processes
● Track inventory and job progress with paper and digital tools
● Package and ship completed products
Required Experience:
● High School Diploma or GED, further education a plus
● 5+ years working in a fabrication/manufacturing environment
● 3+ years of steel GTAW (TIG) welding experience in a professional setting (AWS or
ASME certifications a plus)
● Experience with fabrication hand tools, including but not limited to: band saw, drill press,
grinder, belt sander, gantry crane, saws, etc
● Proficiency with handheld measurement and fixturing equipment
● Ability to read engineering drawings and weld symbols
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Excellent shop math skills
