Built a flatbed on my Ram 5500 diesel and decided to change to a gas truck to gain reliability. Found the flatbed is really nice for truck being a camper and a truck, but not so great for height. Building a 3" tall quick mount "swiss knife" type of sub frame that will allow camper to ride 3" lower, and flatbed to ride 3" higher.
First thing to do was to single out the truck. Installed a set of Rickson wheels (Toyo 285/70 19.5 dia.) that fit just right. Next thing is to get the sub frame into fabrication.
