Tent Cot to Roof Top Tent conversion

Just wondering, what is the advantage of having it on the roof vs having it on the floor.

I figured that the tent cot solved most the downsides of a regular tent: being on the floor and set up time.

Looks good.
I saw this down on an Xterra.
I have the pic of it on my hard drive in a folder I have of roof top tents.

I have no room inside the truck to haul it...and it is a PITA to move around.

So you have a cover for it and leave it on the roof while traveling?

Any pics of it folded on the roof rack? If the center bar is cut out will it have enough support? Sounded like you thought so... This would be an awesome option for a roof tent if I can leave it up there on the highway when traveling!

Looks like it has been a while on this, and the OPs last visit was a few months ago. It would be sweet to know what happened!

I also need the folded dimensions if possible... To see what kind of waterproof bag could be used to store it on the roof in when not in use.

I looked the folded dimension would be different with it mounted on plywood I believe since it would not fold width wise. At least as far as I can tell...
