Not a lot of sanding needed, this small flare took a few mins of 80 and a few more of 120. Made some progress on a wheel, but i need something with more RPM's than my cordless drill. I scratched it up after polishing with some 1500 by hand to see where i was at. The polishing with only drill...

Also started working on sanding down the fender flares, my buddy wants me to only sand down to 120 or so, he's going to fill in the tiny dips etc so that with a glossy paint job they look perfect...i got the impression that my sanding isn't good enough LOL.

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

That is neat! I had actually thought it would be cool if my jeep had little side doors like that for my kids to get in the back, obviously would only work when my rear sides are out. I'm beginning to think all of my ideas have already been done LOL.

One of the holes landed on a spot where the sheetmetal changed planes (bottom right) so drilling the hole was a small PITA but the nutsert worked just fine. The two top holes are in significantly thicker metal.

Been dreaming about painting the very top section white. Already getting the looks like an old fj40 comments, or an old defender, and even got a mail jeep comment. Just wondering what y'all think. The wheels will be polished to a mirror finish so they wont match the white per se. I was gonna...

    I have caught the bug...

I feel out my chair when I scrolled down to the tent pic. It's almost as if you painted the jeep to match...I'll keep my eye out for ya.

So I finally got some time in my neighbors shop. He touched up the paint around the tub where the hardtop meets it and then buffed out the paint around the top 3" of the tub and tailgate area. I've installed the new top so we can figure out how to design some brackets to support the roof only...

Shocks and springs are shot so I'm considering the JKS 2.5 lift, thoughts? Not going larger than 33's and am considering belly up or closer at least. I do have a engine oilpan skid plate that I would need to tie into. Agree on body lift. Thinking just a 1" or 1.5"

The Jeep was my daily driver, and I commuted and unbelievable 42 miles one way to work. In 3 years I put nearly 60 K on the Jeep, and needed a new set of 33’s. At that point in time I was able to purchase a second commuter car and let the Jeep live in the driveway. I just rolled over 100K on...

My 2004 LJ Unlimited's Journey and time for a refresh

It was October 2004, I had just graduated and landed my first Job. I’d always driven really old hand me down used vehicles and my girlfriend was a new car person. With a little encouragement, and her good credit, we bought a Jeep together. Not just any Jeep, the brand new 2004 LJ Unlimited...
