Tent heater for the Springbar Vagabond 7

Yep, I am the rocket stove guy. You can construct it smaller you just need to make the heat capture box and baffles smaller. But you need the length of the stack to keep the draft. My design is not really that large. It over built it. But it accomplishes several purposes at the same time...

No it is not insulated, While I agree that would help with heat loss, it is not needed due to the heat out put of over 100+ degrees to the tent as it is. When it is colder, I run the cold air return pipe to the tent and recirculate the heated air back through the unit to gain extra efficiency...

LOL!!! Well I finished up a full night in the ARB tent Friday. All is well, I did not perish from Carbon monoxide poisoning. After burning a bunch of oak sticks for a hour or so. I filled it up with about 10 charcoal briquettes and crawled up the ladder for the night. Got a good 2 hour burn...

I am going to demo this at a local fishery this weekend. Looking for some feed back on the design, and some garage logic discussions. Any opinions?

Testing Further testing this weekend was done with dried corn on the cob. Burns great. Consistent heat output of 150 degrees measured at heat vent pipe. 32 degree cold air input temperature heated to 150 degrees. Temperature incline of 118 degrees. Using oak sticks and corn on the cob...

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Since, The Zodi tent heater seems to be gone. This is a great solution if you have some fab skills and a few tools. Propex furnaces are great, pricey, but nice. I always have access to branches and a small fuel source while trout fishing so this was my...

Rocket stoves have a fantastic draft and burn. Once the air it heated up it draws air under the wood feed. It only takes a minute and it literally start a burning with the intensity similar to a pellet stove. I have a thermostat for my inline blower in the tent now. Just have to test it out yet.

The fuel can has not been used, never filled yet and empty. I was just setting the furnace on the tail gate to give it some perspective and testing. If I decide to use it while on the tailgate the Jerry can will be removed and relocated away from any risk. I found a Fuel can that is really a...

It was 28 degrees out when I was testing it in the driveway. My neighbor happens to be from England and had quite a good laugh while I was working on the rig. I do believe there was a question of "Can I cook fish and chips on it" Had a tea pot going on top of it at the time which is not...

    Rocket Stove Tent Heater

It has a draft induced blower on side of the unit. Hook up some flexi heat pipe same stuff as the older Zodi tent heaters. Forces the air into the tent through the hose. Unit would sit outside my trailer with a hose running into a window from th blower. I am going to re-engineer it a bit...

    Rocket Stove Tent Heater

Not a comment on this device? Am I the only one who likes camping in the snow? I should have posted this link in the trailer build section, as a built in central RTT furnace/fireplace! 5 new trailer designs would have been started already :-) I'm already welding and headed to the Tin...
