Anyone make their own "national Luna style Power Pack"?

I agree they are pricey but I can say first hand the NLPP are great. All in one package with quality materials. So easy to take out and pop in another car also.

    2012 Taco dual battery questions

Personally I would start off with the 100amp/hr sears platinum 31m. I got by with this single battery for a long time - charging phones, laptops, winch, ARB fridge, etc. Typically I'm moving each day when camping so it was more than enough. Even two nights was fine. It was when I started...

    2012 Taco dual battery questions

It really comes down to your power needs. Minus the random dead battery or draw on it to make it dead (which don't get me wrong is a justifiable reason why to go dual) - figure your devices you need to run and the consumption they take and the amount of time you will be "parked" I got by with...

    2012 Taco dual battery questions

Do you need a dual battery? What are your power needs and for how long? Get a sears platinum (odyssey rebrand) group 31m. 100a/hr battery and fits in stock location. 100 a/hr is usually more than enough for most folks - saves in weight and complexity until your power needs justify the second...

Offset your power bill with your solar parked in the driveway? Probably not.

my out door lights take the small base (B11) - used to have 4 60w in each (8 bulbs - 480w total) - I can get away with 2 in each of these and its brighter (4 - 14w total). Annually with the daily run time I have them at I save well over $300/year with CA PGE rates. I picked up a 4 pack when...

Offset your power bill with your solar parked in the driveway? Probably not.

I purchased 3w LED replacement bulbs for my porch lights. Cheap bulb, color matches normal bulbs, more lumens and saves tons of energy.

Offset your power bill with your solar parked in the driveway? Probably not.

Spoke with my buddy who work on smart meters at PGE in CA. He confirmed a smart meter will detect the use if these. Now what happens when it is detected - that's unknown.

Offset your power bill with your solar parked in the driveway? Probably not.

these particular small units will run off a 12v panel - that what they are designed for - my concern is smart meters will detect them and if not permitted correctly could be illegal SPECS: Normal AC Output Power:250W; Maximum AC Output Power:300W AC Output Voltage Range: 90V ~ 130V; DC Input...

Offset your power bill with your solar parked in the driveway? Probably not.

I could be wrong - but I believe the new "smart meters" (if you have one at your home) will detect these units.

National Luna Power Pack - Solar Setup

I know it's not the best photo but this is one my friend took while camping last weekend. Spent 3 days out in stanilaus with family for memorial weekend. Solar setup worked great keeping my AUX battery topped off the entire time. I was putting some big loads on it also - since it was family...

National Luna Power Pack - Solar Setup

I see - if i am understanding this correctly, I don't think this happens the way mine is hooked up (single charge controller direct to cab battery). My solar goes directly to the terminals on the battery in the NLPP. The negative then goes to a shunt (so I can measure amps in/out) then the other...
