Thinking about moving to a full-size

Fords are better when old/worn. They have less moving parts in the suspension than both ifs Gm trucks, and solid axle dodges. How tall are you? My ford superduty shorted is 6'9", and I sleep in it and I am 6'4", I think the obstacles is longer than 6'.

Thinking about moving to a full-size

He said extended cab, 5.0l f150 like that are common enough, although I used to camp out of and even offroad a 2nd rear drive Mazda mpv, the ad version would work pretty well.

    Is my truck good?

A sas with ford axles would make for a simple reliable expo truck. Durango ifs is not very stout. For mpg and reliability you could remove the body lift and go down in tire size. This would reduce the strain on the drivetrain, and lessen the aerodynamic drag, 31"s would only cost you 1" of...

    why level your truck?

Leveling a truck does not affect the static weight balance. Ford f350 s are usually 2" higher than equivalent f250 s due to a taller block. So a level kit just rakes them like an f250. Level kits usually are simpler than full lift systems even when both give the same lift amount, and are often...

    build it or sell it?

Skip the 9.5" 14 bolt, it is still a c clip, there used to be an aluminum 6 lug hub for a 10.5 full float 14 bolt available, if not get the iron hub machined to 6 lug. Cunvert to discs. More strength and less cost. Do not upgrade the front is diff wit a traction aid, that will just break more...

    Camping with Firearm-Post Bear Mauling

Stun guns work well, the sound of the arc makes black bears run, maybe some ozone smell. You do not shock them, just hold them up and push the button.

Do you feel the need to have a weapon when camping

I have been in situations where being armed stopped a crime without action on my part, just the visual detergent of the gun on the hip. If you encounter bears, the last thing to do is shoot them, a hand held stun gun (not a taser, no projectiles,) makes them run like crazy just from the sound of...

    what would you do?

SD sb is 6'8",16" shorter, the wider axles allow a tighter turning radius, so go f450-550!

    what would you do?

A ford SD ccsb is as long as the long bed cc k30 pictured. I ran some jeep trails in my old ccsb superduty, and size was a limiting factor.

    what would you do?

F250 verses f250 really doesn't matter, the difference is the rear block, and some f250 don't have overload springs. I love my ccsb, and would not want a long bed. I would change to an f450-550 front axle, and a wider rear to get a tighter turning circle, rather than the short bed truck.
