    97 Cummins "do-it-all"

Thanks for the reply. I replaced all of the rubber lines under the hood. I am still running my fuel heater, haven't had issues yet. It's easy to remove if I ever have to though.

Hey guys, Lagged on the repair. Been very busy with business and had to drive the truck. Anyways. Got the tappet cover gasket done. The job wasn't too bad, ended up being a 2 day project due the main supply line from the lift pump to fuel filter kinking during disassembly. Anyways, the job is...

Awesome! I really like the direction youre heading with the truck.

Yes indeed, I see a bunch of grey RTV around the timing cover, so I know it's been off before. I am not sure if KDP has been done though, the PO said he had it off to fix an oil leak.

    97 Cummins "do-it-all"

Hey guys... Truck is back home in Cali for a month or so now. No pics of the drive home, turns out the Destination MTs don't like ice too much, and I was trying to beat the weather. I've been busy running all over the western US for business, so nothing's really happened with the truck...

    97 Cummins "do-it-all"

Redthies, Thanks I'll be sure to let you know if I need anything else. I actually missed the winter a lot, I'm originally from NW montana so it's nice to be back in the cold. The wind here, however, is something I still need to get used to! I am a little concerned I'm not getting full...

    97 Cummins "do-it-all"

Thanks guys! Right now the plans are as follows- would love to get some bags in the rear and I have a set of firestones ready to mount up back at home....maybe one of these days I'll get some motivation and put em in. Also would like to ditch the stock springs and blocks and get some 7-8" lift...

    86 Suburban, warwgn's build.

Just found this thread, very nice work thus far! You certainly have more patience than me especially with that dash bezzel...sucks about the 496 but looks like she's going to be a mighty beast when it's all done!!!!

    97 Cummins "do-it-all"

Hello again everyone! As usual life is taking precedence over the truck, so not much has happened. Anyways, the truck and I are back in Alberta again. The truck remains unchanged other than the grille now being black (and the whole rig being significantly dirtier from winter). I hit a deer and...

    97 Cummins "do-it-all"

Sorry for such a long time without updates. This is by far the longest time I've spent up here in Calgary with my GF's family and it has been excellent but very taxing at the same time due to some family issues. Going to be heading back to the US in a couple days here...but for now a thread...

Thanks for the very kind words Larry!!!! If you're ever in the Socal/Oregon area let me know, and I'll do the same if I'm around Pueblo...would love to see Polar Bear...and the cub!! Will do Sir!!! Where will you be in Oregon....I'll be visiting my Dad in Ashland but I'm not sure if...

    97 Cummins "do-it-all"

Sounds good! I could actually swing by Whistler on the way home...would be a couple weeks from now. Want to grab a frosty beverage and talk truck? :sombrero: Thanks! A proper Dodge camper shell is hard to find around these parts. The one I picked up I got for $500, and it has a boot (I don't...

Cool! Next time youre down here, we should get all the VC guys together perhaps? Makes sense, these wheels (now that I have re-measured) came out at 8 3/4" from outside to outside. I would assume they are an 8" wheel.

    97 Cummins "do-it-all"

Yeah, I have yet to hear anything bad about the Firestones. I think the rims are 16x8, edge to edge they were about 8 1/2" so I assume the inner lip is 8"

Thanks, I think I will too. I would love the 3.55s and 35s if I had a 6 speed, I can just imagine some awkward speeds while towing. For empty driving, it's great. I find myself using low gear a little more now. Redthies, are you planning on moving down here? :Wow1:

Thanks! Yeah, these 35s require a little weight :)
