And yet another off road-ish camper build has begun.

Very nice build. I'm ready to start the box on my trailer and have had some reservations about using plywood in the construction. You've made it look much more feasible to me. Great build!

Thanks!

Got fenders mounted today. Again, in the future I will be building proper off road tube and sheet fenders. These are just temporary.

Sorry for the lack of updates.

So, between work and being sick, still, got a bunch of little stuff done while waiting for the primer to show. Fingers crossed the primer arrives tomorrow.

Interior is almost there as far as wall coverings, doors showed up today, window last week, went with off white vinyl contact cemented to the ceiling, trim to go, interior tile is done now, still have to cut the interior and galley shelving, final fit on the door openings, and get ready to shoot primer Thursday.

Todays excuse from West Marine... "West Marine screwed up the HazMat paperwork and that delayed the shipment a day. Hopefully the truck will be here tomorrow about 2pm."

Are you fecking kidding me...

I've been using Discount Marine Supplies. Good prices and fast shipping. http://www.discountmarinesupplies.com/

Thanks for the link. Next time I will use them. Hopefully the HazMat shipping charges don't make it more expensive. I normally dont do business with West Marine because they are absurdly over priced, but, their ship to store for free option eliminates the through the roof hazmat charges, so it makes it worth it. Kind of.

Trying to spray it with my fancy HVLP turbine spray system was not such a hot idea. Got the top, rear and front sprayed. Decided to table it until I return from my four day trip and we will roll the rest of the primer.

After we sand it out, we will roll and tip the color coats. The paint was designed to be rolled and tipped anyway, so no biggie.

I was shooting for an automotive/factory built trailer like finish and not a home made trailer finish.

Sigh...

This is what happens when you overthink stuff...

Personally, I'd move the axles in a bit. One of my trailers had a wider track than the tow vehicle and it was hell to pay on a rutted trail.

Nice build. Very well thought out. Have fun!

No way to move em in. Its all good. I dont plan on that rough of a trail to worry about it.

These fenders are temporary anyway. Going to make them out of steel tube and sheet in the future to hold jerry can mounts etc.

Two nice thick coats of rolled on epoxy primecoat.

Top and front are sanded and ready for color. It will be silver. Rolled and tipped. I have to order a second quart of the blue for the back and sides. Hopefully the blue will go on next week. These delays waiting for paint are killing me...

And the color coats begin. Gray on nose and roof. First coat on. Rolling and tipping Interlux Perfection two part polyurethane.

Second and final coat going on in an hour or so.
