Erde 102 - small camping/general duty trailer

Here is my Erde 102 trailer that I'll use and maybe modify to help camp and do general house jobs.

This is what we here in the UK have as our version of the Harbour Freight trailer. Available from lots of retailers in 3 common sizes, 102 the smallest, 122 is the mid size and 143 the larger common one.





As you can see it really is small -

Outside dimensions are 5'8" long, 4'1" wide and 2'7" high.

Internal dimensions are 3'5" long, 2'9" wide and 1'2" high.

Weight stripped and empty is 55kg with a max weight of 300kg.

As you can see from the photos it tilts and has a drop down tailgate, the trailer is also able to be stored upright.

So far to the trailer I've added a jockey wheel, spare wheel and holder and a vinyl cover.

I've upgraded a few of the lights (numberplate and fog) to LED with bulbs I have lying around and have attached the number plate.

I dont really have any plans of how to modify it currently, it was just a fantastic price so couldn't say no and when I searched I couldn't find any 'build threads' done for this trailer.

Cheers! My dad has a larger version he bought many years ago and it really was great. Not so much use when you have a van, but may be good to keep the majority of camping gear in (chairs/tables etc) and free up space in the van. Or great for tip runs with garden waste to save on mess.

We'll see how it goes.

First modification done to the trailer, inspired by lots of trailers here on the forum.

I wanted somewhere to store the tools required to change a tyre on the trailer and also to ensure bolts are tight etc and somewhere to store any straps/bungees.



I'm afraid I don't know what size this ammo can is, but it's perfect, and at only £9 was extremely cheap too.

2 bolts through the mudguard hold it on securely, with a copper washer on the mudguard side to hopefully help prevent any water creeping up.

I pull one almost EXACTLY that size with my lawn tractor. Very handy little dude.
