Lockers and Tires Oh My...

Spartans are similar to Lock-rites and aussie's. Drop-in lunchbox locker.

I've heard mostly good about all three.

I was always pretty happy with the performance of the stock .gov blm and FS rigs I drove around back in the day...

Lockers just get you stuck farther from home :)
Unless you happen just drive out. ;)

The only situation where you really NEED large tires is in deep deep snow.
...or deep mud or sand or big rocks... ;)

Automatic lockers have a learning curve. I wouldn't suggest letting just anyone drive the vehicle in adverse conditions.
But fun once you learn how to use them properly.

There's no Devils Advocate emoticon is there? :)

Just an update.....
I got a Trac-Loc limited slip carrier coming for the XJ.
Its going on the Rear, and the front I'm 90% sure is going to get a Spartan LBL.

I'm also considering Dodge Magnum 17x7 wheels, go with a set of 255/70/17 tires.
That size is 32" tall and only 9" wide so I can keep some gas mileage.

Absolutely :

no 1 : lockers ( I have ARBs and would do this mod 1st on my next rig)
no 2 : skid plates ... protect your rigs vitals and you can play with the big boys (if No 1 - is done ) this set up will make many VERY jealous ...

Hack that thing into a toy and have some fun. It's only worth 1000 bucks and you know you want a mans Jeep so at least slap some 32x11.50's on it. They are simple to neatly cut the fenders on and that really helps them.
