M1010 Build. The Rompulance

Thanks guys I’ll post up some more pics later today. The overall height is 11 feet two inches. It was important to me to have head room in bed after my mattress and bed platform was put in.

Not worried about it being top heavy because the aluminum frame itself weighs about 45 pounds. And after having the water tank mounted on the floor as well as all the other storage it shouldn’t be an issue.

Heres a few more pictures of the process. We removed the rivets holding the stock roof and cut down and left a 2 inch gap between the cab and cabover. Built the frame off of the truck and installed it.

Very cool! All of that headroom looks like it will make for a very practical, comfortable set up! I absolutely understand the want to have headroom in the cab-over/bed portion. There's nothing more annoying then having to sit at a weird angle while reading or working on a device while laying in bed.

Thanks! I’m pretty stoked to be able to stand completely up in it while I cook and sit up in bed. I moved into it full time 6 months ago. So this is well overdue!

Made some progress today and got both sides up. Hopefully if I get some time tomorrow I can get the front piece on and the window cut out.

Made some more progress today. Tomorrow will be spending the morning getting the 2 inch angle on the corners and the roof 1x1 aluminum over the seams for the solar panels.

The capping for the side seam is going to be ready for pick up next week so hopefully when that comes I can finally add that to get rid of the ugly
