Subscribed. You could do the Rubicon in that!

Jeremy! Thanks for dropping by. You have a link for a build thread on that nice FJ of yours?!

The bulbous size of the 80 will be interesting on the Rubicon/Dusy but I'm sure it'll manage just fine with some good spotting.

That's stellar - definitely stoked to see Tom come around for winter season.

How's work treating you?

Hey David! Thanks man, work is good. Well sorta... I'm currently waiting on wireline as we're stuck in the hole. Retrieving the tool this afternoon I hope and then it's a waiting game. Busy, busy though havent really been home for more than a few days since I started! How's the injury coming along? Healing up well I hope.

Hey man, if you're stuck in the hole that's time that you get paid not to track gamma and take surveys! Good luck retrieving - what are they going in with? Are they cutting it off then fishing? Any jarring? Just curious... Ha!

My back didn't respond to the cortisone shot (well, it did, just flared up instead of helping...) and so they're not sure what route to go yet. Back specialist is getting back to me once she converses with colleagues as I am not a typical case apparently. Bugger. On the plus side, I have approval for long term disability and good stash of Percocets! Yay!

Make hay while the sun shines my friend - the bank is definitely worth it. Being able to pay for mods in cash is quite rewarding.

Lol, the problem lies in that I buy all the mods, but the truck sits in my driveway. It's getting built so I can USE it! Oh well, I'm already trying to get in the office! hahaha

My tool is out, fished it out via wireline last night. Now they are going back in to blast off the BHA and try to recover it. Yup... gravy day, I can't complain! Might even go fishing with the DD for a bit if time allows.

Bummer on your back man, that's the ****s. If it doesnt bug your back, I say get out and drive that nice 4Runner! I need to see some action pics!

I can't wait to see some more updates, loved your 4runner, can't wait to see all the progress on this. I know it's easy to request, but if you could take more pictures, especially of your upcoming projector retrofit I'd appreciate it. Pictures mean more to me than the story and I'm guilty myself of neglecting them

Hey thanks Marshal! Seems I had lots of followers with the 4Runner, and I too am really missing it. Regarding the pictures, yah I'm sorry not as good in this build with my photos in comparison to the Duster build thread. In my defence, the difference is being a University student whos at home every day at some point while I had the Duster, and now being away from home 95% of the time with my new job. Hell, I've put less than 500kms on the Cruiser since buying it in June. Hahah wow, thats terrible! I'm hoping to have another round of wrenching/wheeling on the Cruiser for thanksgiving weekend and I'll make sure the camera comes out to play in spades! I'll make sure the retrofit project doesnt go un-documented as well!

I still want to do a 2UZ swap but that thing is crazy!

Looks good - profile picture please!

What did it set you back cost wise? I think the '01 4Runner will receive the same treatment... perhaps not as far up but I need to find a good body line like you did to make it look clean.

Keep the mods flowing.

Thanks Dave! It cost me close to $2K but I had the better LineX applied (UV coated) and it has a lifetime warranty. Also had the roof coated which bumped the cost up $250 from my original estimate. Still cheaper than a $8000 paint job and a hell of a lot more durable! I'd like to see it on your 4Runner up to the rocker crease.

I somehow got lucky and was able to get home for the weekend. Cleaned the truck up, re-installed my Cruisin' Offroad sliders, installed the Slee bumper, did the washer relocation kit to make room for my ARB compressor under the hood, and moved my A/C dryer out of the way. Pretty productive day!

Here's some shots of my days labor and the new LineX:

That looks awesome. If you haven't already get some 303 Aerospace protectant. A little wipe down will keep the line-x job looking new.

This **** is bananas. Love it for interior cleaning too.

I'll be drooling over those shots for a while rickashay - maybe it's your photography skills or perhaps the Line-X just looks that good!

Nicely done! I usually don't care for aftermarket rims on Cruisers but yours are the exception....they look great!!

Cheers
