Seat Replacement '97 E350. Will E450 2021 front seats fit

The front seats in my 1997 Ambulance are tired after 18k hours on the road. I'm looking at these seats from a 2021 E450 and wanting to know if they will fit without redesigning the world...

I'd probably dye them to match, but what do you all think?

I'm reasonably certain the seat bases are the same as 97-14 vans, I've swapped many seats between those years without issue. The only gotcha I can think of would be the seatbelt plug to keep the SRS light off - that might have changed since 2014.

I can sort out the wiring... I don't even think my '97 has any seatbelt light. Worst case I'd have to swap the older buckles onto the older seats.

I seem to recall that, as you're saying, that the '97-'14 seats can be swapped. 2021 I'm less certain about, but I'm thinking I can make the work somehow. I've searched, and so far haven't found any writeups on the topic.

Anyone have a 2021? Do you find the seats comfortable?

Nothing has changed since 97 I think. All factory E-series seats are the same cushy, floaty, non-supportive garbage they have always been and all are interchangeable except powered seats.

Good to know. I’m leaning towards the ‘21 seats because they shouldn’t also be worn out. I’m also considering a set of ‘07 seats that are in decent shape.

Part of what I’ll need to do is see what fits my 6’4”+ body best.

Got back from an extended weekend of camping with some family, and managed to sneak my head under the seats of a rented 2022 E450 camper my sister brought along, and it looks like the bases are identical. Plug was different for the seatbelt, but, I have a mind to think the older buckles will fit the new seats the same.

I've messaged the seller of these seats several times to come look at them and they haven't answered. I'll probably go with the '07 seats that aren't listed by a scammer.

The Ford E350 seat covers I'm already using should fit them perfectly.
