Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

(@ coppertop: Same here, but I'm still tossing around putting fozzy suspension on my wrx rather than king springs)

I would recommend the former, While the kings (with a higher rate), both OEM and especially raised kings can and do provide lift, they also extend the strut such that its more at the extension limit, so less extension but more compression, but with a stiffer spring its a bit moot RE: compression in such a light vehicle.

Living life closer to max extension, and harder extension when it happens, means shorter strut life. BUT with the 03-08 fozz strut AND maintaining body-weight compression at the sweet spot in the shock . . .

Our 98 Forester "S"

Bought it as a basket case at 165,000 miles. Blown headgaskets, bent suspension, trashed interior. Fixed all the woes then turned it into our hiking / camping / fishing rig.

Suspension is SG chassis front struts, BG chassis rear struts with +2in Ironman springs and Subtle 1in spacers all around. Rear swaybar is 20mm off a GD chassis WRX for better on road manners when we were towing our pop up (sold) Tires are 215/75-15 General Grabber AT2.

This has been a great car over the last 6 years, but since having a kid (in addition to two large dogs) its just not cutting it anymore so we will be moving on to a Van. First thought was an Astro, but we can get similar mileage in a full size so yeah...... Probably going to go that route, even though it is a bit over kill.

I became a Subaru owner last weekend! 2014 Forester XT. First order of business will be some crossbars, basket and fairing. Second order of business will be a light bar/brush bar, but I haven't found anyone selling one for the 2014 yet.

Just picked up a 2014 Crosstrek for my wife. Got it with 8 miles on it, hope it makes it to 250k +. I'm already stoked about spending the money on it after driving it in the snow we got today....the beauty of all wheel drive!

I'll give it a try. The 82 Brat I picked up for free.

Has anyone driven their subaru (impreza, wrx, forester, outback) on the beach? We are looking to take a trip in the next few months to the beach. You are able to drive down the beach but I was just wondering if it would be wise.

A free BRAT?

I wish I had your problems :(

I don't know that you do. You can see the rear corner panel in one of the pics that's all rusted through and sadly there was a ton of rust in the gas tank so the brat has been sitting for a bit. I may build another one shortly bigger and stronger. We will see.
