Friday, heading out to the Algodones Dunes.

I was! Had to double back and camp in the lee of the coastal range, didn't get settled until well after dark. It was a fun weekend going back and forth in the weather from clouds and mist to sun and wind.

No reflector used. Light was just right. I did use a high contrast red filter for the sky.

Ah yes, a red filter will do it. So you shoot B&W direct in the camera then?

Here are some shots my passenger was able to grab why flying some formation the other day. The plane is a 1958 J35 Bonanza so I attempted to create a period correct look in Light Room.

Shot on my 60D with a 50mm 1.8.

Yikes, 10x8 eh?

I miss my large-format days, still that's progress I suppose. I still have my Tachihara 5x4, lenses, spot metre etc. I get them out occasionally and dream of the "good old days"
