Well it's almost done. Done enough to use anyway. A friend of mine has a fues panel he's going to give me, but I have no real need as of yet for the trailer batteries. And I can only charge them through the Jeep. I'm really itching to go camping for a few days. So I'm not sure if ill get it back on jackstands to meassure for the new axle. Tires are here waiting.
I had to remove the ARB fridge and OBA and all the plastic to replace the trailer relay. Thx Jeep

I towed it around the block, it still bounces even with two 33-12.5 tires in it. It's a lot better than it was, and backing it up is a lot better.

Amazing work! It's really cool to think that the work done to these trailers will let them live on far longer than most of our vehicles!

Which battery holders are those? Still pondering my HF box layout... :-/

Go camping and enjoy!

Thank you guys

It really needs more work done to it, but it will have to wait. I'm not sure who makes the battery mounts. I got them from shocker motorsports in Bakersfield ca. I'm sure Pat can send you some.

Anybody know where to find canvas chain covers? PO did this. It's a water bowl.
..........

One way to keep the bicycle tubes from holding water, is to punch 1 or 2 small holes at the bottom of the "U"

An empty .22 brass works great. (I use empty brass for gasket punches in a pinch)

Canvas would certainly look better, but the tube does the job. :coffeedrink:

I've been a bit busy lately. I did take the trailer on the mojave road starting on Xmas day. It did great until the trip home from Barstow to Bakersfield. Hwy 15/58 snapped an already half broken 64yr old spring. I'm picking up the new dexter axle tomorrow, and dropping off the springs to get fixed.

I think I'll do a tall lid for it, and a water tank. We will see.

The trailer build has been on hold since the dogs went missing.

I finally picked up the new springs, axle, and hardware. I'll reuse just a few items of the original suspension.

Here's a quick phone pic of the axle install. I have to wire up the controller in the Heep, and hook up the electric brakes. Than source parts and fab the hand parking brake.

I'll probably just widen the fenders by 5.5", and add some guards f/r of them. The trailer is still 6" narrower than the Heep.

Wow, what happened man (if I can ask)? So sorry to hear that. Glad to see your trailer coming along... I want to switch over to electric brakes this spring as well on my CDN M101... just need to retrofit the hand brake after to the new backing plates, somehow. I read there is a pretty simple way, just need to re-locate the web page.
