Finally scored an ARE utility topper for my Tacoma........for 150.00 bucks. Super stoked.

Now I can finally build a drawer system in the bed.

Has anyone used foam sheeted insulation on these aluminum toppers? If so what kind of adhesive did you use? (I assume some type of spray would be best). I plan to insulate the top and sides with this =

With pop rivets (and to be honest, cutting the exterior skin kinda scares me because if I F it up....its pretty permanent).

Here's a quick shot of the topper. Just ordered some vents from Owens, and should have them in a week or two. They will be mounted towards the rear of the topper, and in the side access doors. Gotta get the locks re-keyed too. Don't want anyone stealing my gear.

I also want to build a drawer system for the bed. Think I want to make it about 14" tall and mount my dog box on top of it at the rear of the bed. I'll also be mounting some fasteners to the top to store a shovel and other needed items.

Any suggestions on how to cut this thing up?

I would use an angle grinder to cut the siding material. Looks like a good start. Great price too!

Im considering just paying someone with a plasma cutter to make the cut outs. Any suggestions on that option? Yay or Nay?

Also would 1/4 plywood be sturdy enough to make a drawer system out of? (trying to save weight)
