It is really looking good. And not only is the design and craftsmanship of the original build good, but, at least speaking about Mike at Voyager Adventure, their post sales support is excellent also. BTW, we didn't get the heater and so far, including a couple of sub freezing nights, haven't...

Beautiful, Keith. Is that Lincoln too? What forest road? Or perhaps you have coordinates?

And more mods We originally purchased a table that mounts on the passenger side, which is great. Had I the experience I have now, I would have also purchased a table on the driver's side for the stove. This lowers the stove and creates additional work space, both on the shelf where the stove...

A few mods Last fall we had a few things we wanted to change prior to heading out this spring. Since our first trip is next weekend, it's time to begin. 1. Because we didn't have a jerry can holder, we just stood the jerry cans on the kitchen "floor". Despite bungee cords, they slid around and...

Thank you! We're looking forward to the end of snow season here in Northern NM (6" so far today) so that we can head out with ours. And yes, we're wimps!

Yes, and I do have the brass. I think the main problem was moving the hose attachment tended to loosen the fitting, and even the hose to fitting attachment, a bit. I replaced the fitting and hose with something which I hope will be more robust. The setup should be clearer when I get photos in a...

Getting ready for the season. As you can see from yesterday's picture of our yard, it is not quite spring/summer here. But it is time to get ready to go camping. So what am I doing to our trailer? 1. I had a frontrunner jerry-can in the kitchen...

    Kiowa National Grasslands

The Kiowa is in north eastern New Mexico right along the Canadian river. The fuel economy is okay - not great - around 19 mpg. It was better before the lift, and the trailer drops it to 17-18 mpg depending on the amount of climbing. And yes, we were lucky to beat the storm. Here's a picture at...

    Security

We remove our max-coupler and put a locking pin into the hole in the trailer's receiver. Also, at home, trailer is nearly invisible from the road since we park it in the back.

Astro is a 2003 AWD with 2" Overland Vans puck and shackle lift and 30" Firestone AT Destination tires. Had Goodyear All Terrain before, and were happy with those, but since we have seven identical tires, including full size spare and the two on the trailer, the Firestones were significantly...

    Garmin Oregon Hard Case

I carry my GPS in my pocket when I hike and am often butt dialing, so to speak, and changing settings, or resetting, or losing waypoints, or whatever. The worst was when I butt dialed the language to Turkish, or some such, and couldn't figure out how to get it back to English since the settings...

    Butch Cassidy's Hideout...

Indeed. The trip looks great. I too am past my roped up climbing/rappelling years, but not past my fun off-road adventure years, and yours was certainly one to envy.

Over 1000 lbs, and only 160 lbs of it is trailer tongue weight. The dogs, at 65 lbs each times five, weigh in at 325 lbs, the raised dog platform and storage structure in the van are made of 3/4" plywood and weigh god only knows what, we carry roughly 150 lbs of extraction and emergency gear...

    Kiowa National Grasslands

It was the best, Yulli. The TD works like a charm, and we hardly noticed it either on the drive (took Palo Flechado pass from Taos to Cimarron) or out in the grasslands.

    Kiowa National Grasslands

Pretty benign trip compared to many that are posted here, but we do really enjoy walking across the wide open plains: Interesting beginning, but the road turned out to be no big deal. Not even worth a picture, although it would have been tricky in a 40 foot Winnebago. View from Mills canyon...

Beautiful work!! My mods fail in comparison. Indeed, cough cough, when will these go on sale?

I also like the attachment to the fender idea. Rather than hinge (will you travel with it hinged up? Or in the cabin), you might look into the Al extrusions SoCal uses for it's table leaf. Doug
