She was in awe the whole trip

520292

Tunnel Arch

520293

Pine Tree Arch

So now its off to The White Rim Trail!

520294

Starting the switch backs.

520295

The drive down Lathrop Canyon is awesome. And you get to drive right up to the Colorado river.

520300

Our camp at Airport A. What a great day. Tomorrow is a full day of driving the WRT!

Day 6 to follow...

Nice trip and pictures. I will be doing almost EXACTLY the same trip in about a months time. It will be a 2 weeks trip from TX, NM, AZ, UT, CO. I will doing some offroading in Ouray and Telluride in Collorado.

Are you going to go to Ouray and or Telluride?

if you go that way, try to go through marble, CO and stop to see Crystal Fall in Crystal, CO. Look it up. I have never been there but I plan to go there on this trip and I also plan to drive on the Independence pass, stop at the Continental Divide, stop and visit Aspen, CO before driving straight to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Looking forward to seeing your trip. I will start a thread also and be updating my thread as I go on my trip.

Be safe out there and looking forward to seeing more of what you guys do.

Sorry for the confusion. This trip was done May 3rd thru May 18. We did ride through Telluride one day on the way to my Aunts cabin in Marble. I went to Crystal Mill last summer when I was in Colorado. It is amazing!! We tried to go back this year but an avalanche had the road blocked. Colorado got a ton of snow last winter and a lot of it is still around.

These next couple of posts are for my daughter. She fell in love with the desert and canyons of Canyonlands, and was blown away by the flowers we saw on the WRT. We even went back to the visitor center to get her a book on wildflowers when we got off the trail. I think she got a picture of every type of flower on the trail, and some plants too. I took a couple too.

My girls gazing at Muscle Man Arch.

For the record, it's Musselman Arch, named for Moab tourism booster Ross Musselman. He didn't discover it, but he probably introduced more people to canyon country in those early years than anyone.

Great pictures! Your daughter has excellent taste in flowers.

Cant beat building memories with your kids. Good for you. I love how the desert looks when everything blooms in spring. So much color amidst a drab (colorwise) landscape. Great job!

This is my favorite picture from the entire 2 week vacation. This is also my favorite campsite I have ever stayed at in my life, on any type of trip. It was magical!

Day 7
254 miles

We are leaving Canyonlands today. Don't think that the beauty ends at the park boundry, it doesn't. The drive out Mineral Bottom is amazing as well.

521413

521414

An old corral

521415

521416

521417

We were headed to Torrey, Utah for a night at an RV park with showers and laundry. We stopped in Green River for lunch and groceries.

521418

521419

521420

Mule deer bedded on the side of the road.

We made a real quick stop in Capitol Reef NP, and did the scenic drive. Capitol Reef is on the list for a return trip and extended stay to explore the back roads of the park.

521421

When we got to Torrey it was about 40 degrees and looked like rain. So we skipped the RV park and stayed at the Red Sands Hotel. It was very nice and the view of the mountains south of town from the hot tub can't be beat.

159 miles

Next up is Bryce Canyon NP.

521453

Devil's Backbone

521454

I didn't know there was snow on Mars this time of the year.

521455

Upon arriving at Bryce we secured a campsite, did the visitor center, and drove the scenic drive to the view points. Unreal landscape.

521456

521457

I am quite certain the eyes, nose, and buttons are chipmunk turds

521458

We camped at North Campground.

521459

After dinner me and my daughter walked the rim trail to sunset point.
