Little bit off topic -
We just finished these two GZL400`s, Tundra is going to EXPO, RAM is heading to Canada.
Engineering Crew is staying on EXD while we are at the show, its been a busy few weeks. But we love it!

Got the body back off today. Next is the kenetic sub frame getting tacked up and refitted. The crew will make a number of floor plan mock ups to see what "feels right" . We encourage all the crew to walk in through out the day.
It is a good exercise, as example what is it like to carry something through the door way in and out? Can one turn around with a coffee in one hand? What do you bump in to? How do two people pass in the hall way, can the fridge door open easy so the boss gets a beer or wine ? Might seem silly but makes such a difference......

G`day All
CAD models mostly complete for component lay out. Fiberglass parts for the inside a few days behind. Roof next week.
Up next is drawing wire looms and plumbing lay out. We will have two tanks for fresh and one for grey, all inside.
Lithium battery power , Webasto for heating and a DC air conditioning.

G`day All
Good week this week.
EarthCruiser EXD-350 proto4.JPG
Got the roof finished and trial fitted to see what life would be like with the roof down. Roof up height will be roughly six foot ten inches.
Here is Michelle (the big boss) doing some stunt work .
EarthCruiser EXD-350 proto2.JPG
Bed size is a smidge under a queen.
EarthCruiser EXD-350 proto3.JPG
Most of the inside is now mocked up with ply wood and MDF. We have the bed/dinette sorted, takes less than ten seconds to convert either way and the bed is always made.

We plan to start for real next week.

Cheers
Lance

Walk through shower in the entry way.
It is the same set up we have on the EXP but with a solid shower door instead of a screen.
Goldy thinks its a good idea, she has water available when travel and we don`t care if it spills a bit..

Toilet is hidden from view until "deployed" for use.

Is this ok with the daughter of Zeus?

I am pretty certain that would satisfy her refined requirement...

Thanks for taking the time to include us in the 'build report'. I've always admired the EarthCruiser vehicles.
I'll keep checking back to see how this design finishes up.

Great work as always.

Afternoon all

Weekly update as follows-

After we play around with MDF and ply wood we mock up again with the panel material we are going to use. All of the internal furniture of EarthCruiser vehicles is composite fibre panel of one kind or another. Here is the bathroom doors with stainless steel hinges as example.
#EarthCruiser EXD_BITS1.JPG
Machined up a few different types of counter top material. Again one piece composite , food grade etc etc.
#EarthCruiser EXD_BITS9.JPG

We are going to a drop in stainless sink rather than a moulded once piece sink/counter top. This internal tight radius is for testing, if we can`t make this crack when testing it should last a very very long time.

#EarthCruiser EXD_BITS10.JPG
Placement of out lets ( very high tech yellow tape helps ) etc are sorted inside and out, this is the time to do this stuff. All marine switch gear and wiring. Looms getting made now with deutsch water proof connectors inside and out.
#EarthCruiser EXD_BITS4.JPG
Seat cushions again for mock up, just to get heights.
#EarthCruiser EXD_BITS2.JPG

Got a number of Isotherm fridges in to test to see what feels the best and makes the most sense for the space.
My fav is the draw type for the EXD.
#EarthCruiser EXD_BITS7.JPG
Last but not least finally got the water tanks, two up front for drinking.

Most of this has been built in Solid Works many times. Files get updated with as many Revs
(Engineering revision) as needed when i walk in and out and change stuff (the crew just loves that) . Then the DX file sent to our CNC machine for cutting the panels. With all this info the crew start plan out work and quality instructions for the techs.

Have a great week end.

Lance.
