Yes I understand fuel is liquid and the sensor moves up and down, its particular location seems to make it swing more wildly than any other vehicle I have owned it must be in the very front or back of the tank, or the tank itself (havent crawled under to look) is very flat which makes angular...

seems to read fine, just very sensitive. Driveway parked slightly uphill will show one thing, flat highway another, coming down from parking garage at work another etc

So it seems like the fuel gauge in my montero is really sensitive to changes in pitch. The gauge can swing 1/4 a tank on a trip from my driveway to the freeway etc so its hard to tell what the fuel level actually is. Is this common? How many miles per tank do you guys get usually?

There was another thread on the spare topic. If you find a relatively cheap/easy solution for a gen 3 I think people are interested. The issue was with how the spare tire carrier actually mounts to the door didnt seem to allow for an easy spacer

They were up Bellingham way, which is a bit far for me. I have a great shop I have used in Redmond for my TDI Jetta but am not sure what all makes they work on

So we were shopping the newer body style pilots (08?) for my wife prior to buying the 2010 honda odyssey we ended up with. Very nice but very car like. I bought a 2003 Montero 20th anniversary and to me its just as nice inside but definitely feels more solid and truck like (not in a bad way)...

The LTX seem rather low PSI I think max PSI is 35? not sure how they are for rolling resistance

Yeah did not get any pics of the harder stuff. We went up this one road and back tracked once the small trees on the side of the road were drumming the sides of the vehicles like a car wash. I think most of the scratches will buff out, but even on all seasons the montero went up everything...

Hey guys, I have a Gen 3 and am Seattle as well (Lynnwood) I just went on my first run with my 3 day old day stock rig. I recommend connecting with the guys over on nwoverland that is who I just went with and seems like a great bunch of family friendly chill people. I don't know about lean banks...

4500 for a montero sport? I don't think it would be that much?

Mine is a gen 3 but I was impressed. The only thing that rattled at all was the glovebox a little, but really only a little and this was bumpy washboardy rocky etc. I felt bad for my wife who is 9 months pregnant even with the nice ride comparatively of the montero she was having to support her...
