4x4 Camper for sale PRICE REDUCED!

Unicell, from this rig's experience, builds a pretty indestructible 'dry freight box'. The Greenes added the indestructible, very functional interior. Everyone's needs are different- we, being full timers, wanted insulation, storage and a very functional kitchen for daily use. Cooking and eating...

out with the old in with the new

With your chipped engine and towing nothing, ie, just the camper load and known weight, can you say at what speed you can go up an about 6% grade keeping the rpms at about 2100-2400 with the chip "off"? I posted this as a generic request at...

    Power Up Hill

Considering the FG 140, I'd like to know at what speed the truck would "cruise" up a long 6% grade holding the tach at about 2200-2400rpm with different loads in 1000 lb increments from 1000 lb to 8000 lb. Cruise means a steady speed at the set rpms. I'm trying to estimate what load would cause...

Reality check for diesel-systemed truck camper

Might I ask how one "likes" or "loves" cooking on a diesel cook top? Would they rather cook on it over any other cook top? Do they enjoy cooking on it in hot weather? Does the 15 min time to get water boiling bother them? How about changing the temp setting vs how fast the actual temp in the pot...

    Cook top Happiness

FusoFG What do you guys think about the cabin heat produced? When we "practiced" boiling/simmering water, had to turn on the roof vent for the heat (no humidity). Seems like, but we don't know, it wouldn't be comfortable where it's hot and humid, ?S. America. I know one can cook outside, but...

    Diesel powered cooktops/water heating

I've noted Doug Hackney's posts. Just used an induction cooktop with pot of water simulating cooking rice: boiled in 5min, simmered for 25 more min; no room heat; used 30A. Next on Webastox100: boiled in 15 min, simmered for 25 min; immense amounts of room heat, not much humidity! (note: the...

    Cook top Happiness

Since there are no replies to my question, perhaps there aren't many overlanders who actually use diesel to cook on. So I'm guessing, in spite of all the warnings about the difficulties of getting propane world wide, overlanders still cook on propane, either inside or outside. In an expansion of...

    Cook top Happiness

I'd like some real world comments, nothing scientific or theoretical, about using the Webasto X100 diesel cook top. Perhaps someone who's used it in more than one country. I know about propane: fast, room heat + humidity. Just used an induction cooktop with pot of water simulating cooking rice...

How to mount a camper onto a Fuso?

Considering putting a ready made camper on a Fuso, like a Bigfoot, my question is about a sub frame mount. To prevent lateral and front/rear movement, it seems that four sub frame rails must be custom made and welded to the camper bottom in a rectangle so they match up to the two truck chassis...

    My XP V1 Shakedown Thread

Did the Bullet Proof Diesel approved shop replace parts with OEM parts or "improved" parts? I thought I read what parts they replaced- ECM, water pump, etc, but can't seem to find that post? I saw the repositioned oil filter. What parts did they replace? thanks, Gary

    Remount camper

Our weight is about 13500 lbs and won't change. We had Fuso put on 14000 lb springs and new shocks 6 months ago . These immediately engaged the overload leafs and all leafs flattened. After a few weeks of no noticeable improvement, ie, still hitting the stops from a small bump, we returned to...

    Tire cupping

Since we have limited space in our overland camper, we have one bottle jack. You might say to leave out the beer and get 4 jacks- which is more important? always a compromise! Your rotation scheme is also what Fuso recommends.
