Route 66: Two weeks in a lifted 2002 Jeep Liberty

Preparations are nearly complete. Historic Route 66 Tour begins in 4 days! Yesterday Eugene got an oil change, new (used) windshield washer motor, new idler and tensioner pulleys, new oil pressure sender, all boots were examined (CV/driveshaft), and fluid levels were checked - all systems go...

Any members in the central Illinois area?

No, I don't. I mostly run with the LOST Jeep group... and some other local clubs on occasion. I poke around on ExPo and if a cool outing is posted, and I have time, I try to join in here also. My KJ has been nearly everywhere in the states. I've had it out to Moab, to Ouray, to NW Montana...

What camera do you carry on the trails?

I concur! Primary gear is my Canon 550D with some combination of 75-300mm, 50mm fixed, and/or 22-55mm. Most of the time I have it all with me.

Anyone from Wisconsin / Midwest going?

I'll be spending the better part of the year in Alaska this year, but we are still entertaining the idea of going on this rally. We couldn't even begin to be certain about it until I get home... late-September or October. Oh, and we're in the Chicago area. Would be willing to convoy. :)

    NTM 2003 kj Renegade

I did the RTV trick on the speakers as well, but it only held out for about another year. You can wire aftermarket speakers to the factory amp... sound quality will vary. I ended up picking up another set of 4 stock KJ speakers and wired 2 of them into the amps in the front doors... easy...

Split the Jeep thread in two: one for Rock Crawlers and another for Expeditioning

They do - I'm running a decent amount of their products, and I 'm pleased so far.

Nice! I, too, enjoy the build process... do you have anything else that you want to do to it that hasn't already been done?
