Spring Center Measurement for the M416

Thanks. I thought it was that, but then found out Dexter will not rate the Axle at 3500 with that much leverage on the axle. They suggested I go from a 2 1/2'' tube to a 3'' which will then rate it at 3500lbs. I just wanted to confirm my measurements.

Spring Center Measurement for the M416

Do any of you remember the spring center measurement on the M416. I am at work and left it at home. I think it was 39 1/4''... Can anyone confirm before I place my order today?

Thanks KAI and Andre. I think I am just going to try and make new fenders at this point. Will post some pictures soon.

Body lift for the M416 questions.

Socal, Did you have to fab new fenders? Or were you able to get away with the stock ones? And not that this would be a "body lift" because esentially the body isn't moving, it is just the brackets getting a spacer. Shackles are an option I guess..

Body lift for the M416 questions.

I can't refine the search enough, and I am sure thisquestion has been asked before. Can you put a piece of 1-2" stock in between the leaf spring mounts and the frame rail on the M416? I figure this will give plenty of clearence for 33's with out jacking the tube way up with a SOA (spring over...

    416 lug & hub dimensions

Keep me posted onthe progress of this axle thing. I am trying to do the same thing with my 416, matching the whels to my TJ 5 on 4.5. If you find an axle that doesn't cost 300+ that will allow me to retain the stock p brake, please let me know.

    LJ Rubicon

Although I agree with you on the gears, I disagree with you in the rocks. I have had both a 5 speed and and Auto and enjoy the 5 speed so much more while wheeling. Yes, it takes a bit more finess at first, but once you learn it right, most people don't even know you have a 5speed.

    M416: Project Beer Crawler

I was just wondering "if you got spidertrax" how much of the hole you had to maching out to make the spacer fit over the hub assembly. I called spidertrax and they do not make an adapter to fit over the stock axle hub. :(

    M416: Project Beer Crawler

    M416: Project Beer Crawler

As far as the Axle goes... what spacers are you going to use? And will they fit over the hub? I though someone said that they wouldn't, becaue I was thinking of doing the same, but then someone talked me out of it. Now I may got back. Getting a new axle w/ brakes is lots more expensive when...

    M416 new axle with brakes?

One more questions guy's. What length axle did you all replace yours with? Is it 60'' hub to hub? or do i want smaller then that? When I called Franklin the guy only stocks a 62'' axle. I think that will be too big. I am just looking for other ideas. Also what is the size of the original...

    Calamaridog's Liberty

We used to have one too... Man they ride like crap stock. Very rough ride. I think my lifted Rubicon was smoother. Yours looks great though. The nice thing about the KJ is you can probably get one pretty cheap now a days. And a little modding can make it a nice camping vehicle.

    M416 new axle with brakes?

Thanks Socal... I did call Redneck... the only issue is that it's $100 for shipping an axle with brakes... I am going to check out a few local places too. Did you get brakes? If so are you glad you did, or do you wish you did?
